Privacy Policy

The short version

Conio the desktop app is local-first: your BOQs, rate tables, and bid data live in a database file on your own machine and are never uploaded to us. Conio the website (this site) collects only what you type into the download/license forms and basic, anonymous page-visit analytics. We don't sell data, run ad-tracking pixels, or require an account to use the Free tier.

What the website collects

When you use the download or license-request form, we collect:

• Name, organization (if provided), and email address — to send your download link or license-request confirmation.
• What you requested — download only, a license, or both, plus license type and the optional firm-size / bids-per-month fields if you fill them in.
• Telegram chat ID and username — only if you choose to verify or get updates via our Telegram bot instead of email.
• Anything you type into the "Ask a question" box on the FAQ section.

We also log basic, non-identifying analytics — page views, which sections you scroll to, and which form you submitted — to understand how the site is used. These events are not tied to a persistent visitor ID or cookie.

What the desktop app does not send us

Once installed, Conio runs entirely on your machine via Docker. Your BOQs, rate tables, schedules, and any other project data stay in your local database file — we have no server that receives or stores it, and the app works offline.

If you enable an AI feature (BOQ matching, rate generation, schedule sequencing), Conio sends the relevant prompt directly to the AI provider you configure — Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude using your own API key, or a local Ollama model that never leaves your machine at all. That request goes straight from your computer to your chosen provider; it does not pass through Conio's servers, and we don't see the contents. Review your chosen provider's own privacy policy for how they handle API requests.

How we use your data

• To send the verification email/Telegram message, download link, and license-request confirmation you asked for.
• To follow up on Office/Solo license requests (support, activation, renewal reminders).
• To understand which parts of the site and product resonate, so we can improve them.
• To send Founders Program updates — only if you tick that checkbox.

We do not sell, rent, or share your contact information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we share data with

A short list of infrastructure providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service described above:

• Vercel — hosts this website and its serverless functions.
• Upstash (Redis/KV) — stores form submissions and analytics events.
• Brevo — sends transactional emails (verification, download link, license updates).
• Telegram — delivers messages if you opt into the Telegram verification flow.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how they process data on our behalf.

Data retention

Verification tokens expire after 7 days. Submission and analytics records are kept for as long as needed to operate and improve the service, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

• Uncheck the Founders Program updates box at signup, or reply "unsubscribe" to any email, to opt out of updates.
• Ask us to delete your contact information at any time — see Contact below.
• Your desktop app data is always yours: it's a local file you control, exportable at any time, with or without a license.

Children's privacy

Conio is a professional tool for construction engineers and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note it in the changelog.
